The air he breathes
FAVORITE STARS
This is the first book in a series by author Brittainy c. Cherry, where she will write about the 4 elements. Starting with the air element. Each story will be independent.
Here we have the story of Tristan and Liz two people that are broken and trying to move on with their lives after their world fell apart. They are two people who are going through and experiencing the same pain and at the same time dealing with it differently. While Liz tries to move on and be strong for your beautiful daughter Emma, Tristan is a person who is closed to the world and tries to hide her pain from all by himself.
The book begins with Liz coming home after a year of the death of her husband to follow his life. She had to leave the city to be able to restructure but had decided it was time to go back. And right on your doorstep in the city she runs over Tristan's dog this mysterious bearded man who everyone in town keeps away and find dangerous. But in this first scene you can see that even though the past of this man, he is a broken man and vulnerable at the same time to see the despair and the pain of him for thinking of losing his dog that was his faithful friend. In the course of the story we see Liz tipping that Tristan's barrier and found that Tristan is just somebody who lost his wife and son in an accident at the same time as Liz.
Soon the two are involved in a sexual relationship for trying to make the pain disappear and keep the memory of the people that they loved. And what began with an escape attempt for both turned into a friendship that later we can see turn into romantic feelings. The way that the author worked every step was delicate, respectful and above all true.
The moments of levity were because of Liz's best friend, Faye, that was fun, lively and her best friend Liz could have. Seriously it's impossible not to laugh when she appears on the scene, she is simply hilarious.
And then the book of an upset that I didn't see coming. And makes your heart break again by Liz and Tristan.Made me hate Tristan for what he did. Made me want Liz took longer to forgive him.
What can I say? This book came into my favorites list.
