Those who follow the series Driven caught a glimpse of the little Zander and his affection for that little boy.Now Zander is grown and came to tell their own story.But if you have not read the other books in the series, it does not interfere with anything here because Down Shift is as a Complete Standalone Novel. 

In the Prologue you see that the past came back to haunt zander who is angry and knowing not handle it. 

After a serious fight with Colton, his father, he ends up being fired from the race team until he gets his head together and figure out what is bothering him.So to get away from everything until you get your head in the place he ends up in remote island in Washington at a friend's house. And there he meets Getty who is living in the house for the past 3 months.And now both are stuck in the same house and for reasons very similar: both are running and hiding something.

She is running from her past .He is running from the truth.Both have their own demons to deal with, both are fragile at the moment and none are yet ready to face what brought them to this remote island.But perhaps that unwanted meeting between them is exactly what they both needed. They just have to allow yourself to trust each other.

The meeting of these two is not easy or quick, as they take a step forward to give two back.Zander is arrogant, sexy, plays cold and hot with Getty, but is also gentle, sweet and the same boy broken and so fragile that we know in the first book. And Getty shown every page is a woman, strong, courageous and determined to leave her abusive past exactly where it belongs ....in the past ..

Zander e Getty could not be rigth for each other. I think they are exactly what the other needed.Zander is slowly giving Getty security she needs in her life.And Getty will give courage to Zander to face the past and value the family that was always there for him.I really liked these two characters and read their journey to put the past to rest and give them a chance of a future.It was not an easy journey, but it was beautiful.

Down Shift It is an emotional Beautiful, , steam love story with so much more .And if you're a fan of this series as I do. This book will not disappoint. I really like Zander and Getty Trajectory.
