Clara Morgan is living the dream, if you can call rebranding hotels that are desperate for a new life and running any kind of marathon a dream. Which she does. But the career she loves and the endurance races that keep her adrenaline pumping have kept her too busy to put down any roots. Growing up in foster care, she’s never been able to establish traditions of her own, which may be why she’s fascinated by the rituals that generations-old family resorts are known for. She’s especially interested in the Bryant Mountain House, and not just for their secret recipe for the yummy, gooey, can’t-get-enough-of Hot Cross Buns….
Archie Bryant, the man with the Buns, is fifth generation and one-day-owner of the charming yet run-down Bryant Mountain House in Bailey Falls, New York. He’s determined to save his family’s legacy from the wrecking ball the old-fashioned way—by gritting his teeth and doing what needs to be done. There’s no way Archie will be influenced by the new hotel branding expert his father brought in to turn one hundred and fifty years of tradition on its head just to attract a faster, younger, slicker crowd. But when some of Clara’s ideas start bringing in new, paying customers, Archie can’t deny that she may have just given him a shot at keeping his resort open.
       It’s sticky, it’s messy, it’s sweet, it’s Buns.

 Resenha/Review

The story of Buns is fun, romantic, sexy, unique and captivating from beginning to end. I read the book in one day and didn't even feel the time passing.

Buns is the third and final book in the series Hudson Valley of Alice Clayton and the second I read that author, and I loved every page of it. Although I still have to go back and read the story of Natalie and Oscar I think it's safe to say this is my favorite book of that series. The story of Buns is fun, romantic, sexy, unique and captivating from beginning to end. I read the book in one day and didn't even feel the time passing.

Archie and Clara were great from beginning to end and it was very fun to read the journey of these two characters. I loved watching these two falling in love and having to deal with it, and although some her attitudes later angered me a little I couldn't understand where they were coming from.Maybe that's why my only complaint about this book was that I found the ending a little run and could have worked over the issue of their insecurities. And I would also like to have seen a little more of what the future had in store for them fun characters. But these points didn't get the beauty and fun of the story.

The secondary characters here are also great, and I couldn't help but catch me laughing with the dialogues between them. Certainly each character added humor, fun and yielded great dialogues during the book, and it was very cool to see dynamics of them as one big family.

Buns was one of those books that I didn't want it to end and it shows when I enjoyed the journey of Clara and Archie. If you like a good romantic comedy, which will make you cheer, laugh and whisper together with these characters, this is a book that you can't lose.

You’re here and I’m here and we’re here and this is so much more than enough because it’s everything.
