Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love…the first time someone holds a gun to your head.
After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, seventeen-year-old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.
While Edie’s beginning to run wild, however, John’s just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he’s going straight—getting to class on time, and thinking about the future.
An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and helps her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first—losing her virginity—their friendship gets complicated.Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose—each other.

Resenha /Review
Eu amei nossos protagonistas, e as vezes esquecia quão jovens eles eram .

I know I've said that I'm not a big fan of YA, but this year this is the third I read and this by far my favorite. I absolutely loved this story, she won me over and held my attention in the first chapter, and each chapter that I read I want to know more of the story of these characters.
I already knew the writing of the author of other books, but this book is unlike anything I'd ever read her. Here the author ventures to tell the story of two teenagers whose lives collide in a night of tragedy and shows us how these two teens go on to deal with a difficult situation and experience as though so different Eddie and John form an unlikely friendship that gradually will turn into something else.
Trust is a book that really struck me. I love follow this story that is at once: sad, happy, funny, dramatic, romantic, all these elements together that at first glance may look like it wouldn't work, but this worked perfectly here. This is not just a book of YA, is a book that deals with topics such as bully, traumatic events, first love, family, friendship. Is a complete book and that shows the interactions between us humans. After finishing this book I can only cross my fingers and wait for Kylie Scott Surprise us with more history amazing as this.
“He’s the only one who gets me. Who knows what it was like, going through what happened that night … And he’s the only one I know for sure would risk himself to keep me safe.”
