Sinopse 

Travis Hale tem tudo.  Um papel importante como xerife da idílica cidade de Pelion, Maine.  Looks que regularmente e consistentemente fazem as mulheres caírem a seus pés.  Dois sobrinhos e uma sobrinha que ele adora, e uma família que quase o perdoou após uma série de decisões infelizes anos antes.  Talvez seu passado esteja repleto de arrependimentos e escolhas equivocadas, mas seu futuro parece brilhante e ilimitado.

 

 Até que o cara novo na cidade o atravessa de uma forma chocante e indefensável.

 

 Um cara que, ao que parece, tem uma irmã que pode ser igualmente desastrosa para os planos bem organizados de Travis, embora de uma maneira totalmente diferente.  Não que haja qualquer risco real de ele se apaixonar pela mulher selvagem que faz smoothies e se alimenta de alpiste.  Ela nem é o tipo dele.  Uma senhora planta da Califórnia com uma cabeça cheia de cachos rebeldes e um passado igualmente confuso.  Mais do que isso, ela está na cidade apenas no verão, ocupada pensando em Gage Buchanan perfeito em todos os sentidos.

 Parece bastante simples.  Ela o ajudará a fazer seu irmão suar um pouco.  E ele vai ajudá-la a superar Gage.  Mas antes que Travis ou Haven saibam disso, o simples se torna complicado, a amizade se perde, a paixão se depara com a perfeição e os dois descobrem que às vezes é preciso perder tudo para encontrar exatamente o que precisa.
